There's a new winery on the block and today we sit down with the tasting room lead from Tekstura Wine Co to talk about rose, red flags, and continue the debate of which X-men is which wine.
What's a red flag? A sign to run from a relationship, be it romantic, occupational, or based in friendship. There are a thousand red flags out there and we only had time to get to a few, and those were just in the relationship category, so watch for part 2 coming soon!

More specifically, this episode is a deep dive into a listener question about the connection between alcohol and anxiety, and why alcohol causes some people anxiety. Tune in to also hear Scarlett's new head cannon: Pinot Noir is the X-Men of wines because of all the lovely mutations that come from it! We are getting a little more serious in this episode, but still keeping the jokes, references, and general nerd levels as high as always. Cheers gang!

Today I am joined by one of my regular partners-in-wine, Ava Rose! We are discussing how to read the label on a wine bottle (well, for American wines at least) so you can gather information about what is in a given bottle and continue to gather data about what kinds of varietals, areas, and styles you like in your wine. Then, Ava and I jump into a discussion about how common struggling with your mental health is, and remind you that just like any other injury or illness; mental illness deserves care, compassion, and healing.

Then, we will discuss the importance of setting boundaries, both in your personal and professional life.

It's our first episode, hooray! Today we are popping some celebratory bubbles and talking about self care. Bubbles, or sparkling wine, can be used to celebrate, commemorate, or just be enjoyed for the delightful drink they are. We are featuring a 2016 Sparkling Brut Rose from Elk Cove Vineyards, which has hints of citrus and apple on the palette. Self care can be stereotyped as nothing more than face masks and bubble baths, so we are diving into how to determine how to tailor self care to you as an individual. Today Scarlett is joined by Brian, a man who has tasted over 17 wines and once asked if he could put Splenda in wine.

Advice From the Pinot Gallery takes a dive into the fantastic world of Oregon wine and wineries, offering educational information about local wines and the wineries they come from. From the Columbia Gorge, to the Willamette Valley, down south to Rouge River Valley, there is a ton of wine country to explore, and I, Scarlett Rose, am here to be your guide. With tips for picking out a good bottle at the grocery store, off a wine list, or which wineries to visit on your next trip, I’ve got you covered. Listen to learn facts about soil, tannins, styles, and the wine making process, and you’ll soon be your friend groups resident wine nerd.
While wine is one of my passions, another is mental health. Caring for mental health is incredibly important, it is what enables us to live our day to day life's! Caring for your mental health involves setting boundaries, engaging in self care, and having coping mechanisms that help you do everything from feeling incredible joy to just get you out of bed in the morning. I want to create a space where its safe to talk about mental health, tips, tricks, and tools of psychology, and to do this all with humor and a bit of sass.
Once a week I’ll hop into your speakers and talk about a different wine, winery, or topic related to wine. Then I will discuss a topic related to mental health, give some practical tips (if they exist: spoilers they don’t always) and answer some audience provided questions Ask Anne style. And as two heads are often better than one, I will try to have a guest on at least half the time who has either some knowledge to share about wine or the mental health world. My goal is to make you laugh, make you think, and arm you with information that can help you both navigate and hack your social life and the wine world.
